snakes in my belly

There were snakes in my belly. The unholy serpents boiled and burned through my gut, raiding the temple that I was. They waged war against truth and scattered the fragments of my soul. They pulled me under dark waters and formed a cavern for themselves in the darkness that came. I could find no way out. I could let no one in. If I opened my heart to escape or be rescued the dark would pour in and I would drown.
They have been driven out by light and many have been slain. Truth will reside in cavern beneath the sea of my soul.
